O nome é inspirado na banda “MYSTERY” do filme estadunidense Detroit Rock City, acho que todos conhecem este filme. E devido a existência de outras bandas com o mesmo nome, a MISTERY trocou o primeiro Y pelo I, para não haver confusão.
A primeira formação e o inicio de tudo foi em 2008 com Adriano “Xingryd” como baterista, Victor Bergy na guitarra e Mark Rainbow baixo e voz. Todos da mesma cidade, Sales Oliveira na região de Ribeirão Preto interior de São Paulo.
A banda se apresentou no festival MusiSales e ganhou o como banda revelação, também se apresentou em diversos eventos do gênero na região.
O grupo segue o mesmo atualmente com exceção do baterista que deixou a banda em 2009 por complicações de saúde.
A MISTERY sempre caminhou seguindo os passos do Heavy e Thrash Metal, mas a partir de 2009 passaram a explorar e criar na linha Thash/Death. Músicas rápidas e com grandes variações rítmicas, já o vocal é bem variado interpretando as letras com agressividade e utilizando de técnicas guturais e agudas.
A influência musical da banda é JUDAS PRIEST, BLACK SABBATH, SLAYER, METALLICA (o velho), IRON MAIDEN e MORBID ANGEL.
No início de 2010 ainda sem um baterista a banda gravou seu primeiro álbum, chamado "See the evil", utilizando de bateria eletrônica para substituir o baterista. O álbum foi produzido e mixado de forma caseira, contem 10 músicas sendo uma cover e duas de abertura, o álbum esta disponível para download.
Em 2011 o album "See the evil" garantiu para a banda uma vaga na seletiva regional do Wacken Metal Battle onde se apresentou no Paulistânia Rock Bar em Ribeirão Preto SP, e para se apresentar neste evento convidaram o baterista Eduardo Borrego que se tornou membro efetivo da banda, seguindo na direção de novas obras, explorando as melhores áreas do Heavy Metal.

In 2011 the album "See the evil" secured the band a place in the local selection of the Wacken Metal Battle, where he played at Paulistânia Rock Bar in Ribeirao Preto SP, and for present this event invited the drummer Eduardo Borrego who became effective member of the band, following in the direction of new works, exploring the best areas of Heavy Metal.
